John Crowley

  • About the author MS

From John Crowley, author of the HarperPerennial Modern Classics Little, Big, Lord Byron’s Novel: The Evening Land, and The Translator:

What was the best book of the year?
I’m incompetent to answer, I read so few new books. The best book of the year I began was Chris Adrian’s Children’s Hospital and it was so good I doubt it can be bad by the end.

What was the best movie?
Likewise. The Science of Sleep was the one I enjoyed most, but how many I missed!

Who was the person of the year?
A class: the journalists and writers who uncovered the truth about the Iraq war.

What is your New Year’s resolution?
Same as last year: Get more rest.
