  • About the author MS

More holiday answers! These from Josh Kilmer-Purcell, author of Candy Everybody Wants and I Am Not Myself These Days:

What was the best book of the year?
Mine. And then the Dandy one. Candy & Dandy. It’s obvious in hindsight. [Dandy in the Underworld]

What was the best movie?
“Young at Heart.” It was a documentary about a senior citizen choir which sings contemporary rock tunes. I cried. Old people make me weepy. Especially cool old people.

What was the best song/album?
I don’t listen to any of that crazy rock and roll music unless it’s being sung by a senior citizen choir.

Favorite Blog?
My boyfriend’s…beekman1802.com. He writes about our life but makes it sound so much more palatable than reality.

Who was the person of the year?
Sarah Palin. I already miss her even though she won’t go away.

What is your New Year’s resolution?
I’m going to watch Oprah’s weight.

** Bonus question: Where do you see the world going in 2009?
I’m so looking forward to all of us hitting bottom together. I think it’ll clear the zeitgeist of a lotta irrelevant shit.
