  • About the author MS

Holiday answers from Lance Reynald, author of Pop Salvation, forthcoming in June 2009:

What was the best book of the year?
crooked little vein made me laugh a lot, I’ve been passing that one around the most.

What was the best movie?
Paris, Je t’aime. I loved every last second of it.

What was the best song/album?
for song I’d say Rihanna- Disturbia. it’s pop with a bit of edge. and for album I’ve remained pretty stuck on Beruit- The Flying Cup Club (though that has been around a bit longer than a year)

Favorite Blog?
Modern Tonic

Who was the person of the year?
the bold, progressive, record number of history makers known as the American voter. I still think it’s pretty amazing what they pulled off. taking a giant step into the future and expressing a degree of character that makes me hopeful again.

What is your New Year’s resolution?
I’ll probably give the trusty old “quit smoking” a try again.

** Bonus question: Where do you see the world going in 2009?
I think it might be an interesting year. I look forward to a certain type of renaissance that seems to be on the horizon, with so many Americans lifted by dreams of change and the fulfillment of such dreams I think the potential is boundless. I think 2009 will be a great time for the artists, iconoclasts and dreamers of the world… and it’s about damn time.
