The final four is almost set over at the Tournament of Books, and Sam Lipsyte’s Home Land, my pick for the crown, is looking strong. Not only did it dispatch Ishiguro’s Never Let Me Go without breaking a sweat, but it’s up against Nicole Krauss in the next round, and Krauss’ latest win was accompanied by phrases like “It’s not so much which book I liked more as which book I hated less.” It gets savage there at The Morning News, I’m telling you.
